The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* portions of central Arkansas... north central Arkansas and
western Arkansas... including the following areas... in central
Arkansas... Conway and Pope. In north central Arkansas...
Baxter... Boone... Fulton... Izard... Marion... Newton... Searcy...
sharp... stone and Van Buren. In western Arkansas... Johnson and
Logan.
* Until 9 PM CDT this evening
* showers and thunderstorms will continue across the area through
the evening hours. Areas of rain... some heavy... will provide an
additional one to two inches of rainfall... which will occur
across a saturated ground.
* Extremely high amounts of moisture... combined with several
rounds of thunderstorms will allow for excessive rainfall and
the potential for high water problems.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Be prepared to take action if a Flash Flood
Warning is issued.
