	Public Information Statement
Statement as of 1:30 PM EST on November 7, 2009 ... Public information statement... ... The growing season has ended for the 31 counties in central North Carolina... Most areas in central North Carolina reported lows from the upper 20s to lower 30s this morning... and many outlying and rural sites observed these sub-freezing temperatures for several hours. As a result... the growing season has ended for the year for all of central North Carolina. NWS forecasts indicate that low temperatures over the next week will remain above freezing... bringing no further threat of a hard freeze through mid November... when the National Weather Service in Raleigh typically ceases to produce frost/freeze alerts. Thus... no additional freeze or frost products will be issued for the forecast area for this season. The frost/freeze program will resume in the early Spring.
