... Flash Flood Watch in effect through Tuesday morning...

The National Weather Service in Duluth has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of northwest Wisconsin... including
the following areas... price... Ashland and Iron counties.

* Through Tuesday morning

* radar estimates that 1 to 3 inches... possibly more... has already
occured since Sunday. Additional heavy rain falling on already
saturated ground could lead to local flash flooding along
rivers... streams... and other poorly drained areas.

* Low lying areas... ditches and roads... will also be vulnerable
to flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that
lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous
situation.

Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should
flash flood warnings be issued.

Iron County in northwest Wisconsin...
north central Sawyer County in northwest Wisconsin...

* until 915 am CDT

* at 308 am CDT showers and occasional thunderstorms continue to
move across the region. The Ashland County sheriff office reports
several Road have been barricaded due to local flooding. Additional
rainfall is expected through early morning with area rivers and
streams forecast to rise.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

In hilly terrain there are low water crossings which are potentially
dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across flooded
roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of swiftly
flowing water to carry vehicles away.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
