Weather Summary

Weather Underground Forecast for Monday, May 12, 2008. A mixed weather pattern will continue throughout the continent Monday.

An upper-level high pressure system will remain generally in the North Sea region and will move only slightly northward throughout the day. Dry conditions will prevail through much of the Scandinavian Peninsula and United Kingdom, aside for some isolated showers in the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, a fairly large low pressure system will remain south of France while moving eastward over Sardinia. It will end the day just west of Italy. This feature will produce increasing precipitation in Italy and showery weather through southern France.

Also, a smaller low pressure system will rotate through eastern Poland towards Romania. This feature, along with another low pressure system in western Russia will also provide showery weather to that general area.

Generally cool to mild coniditions are expected throughout the continent, with the coldest air well north in the Scandinavian Peninsula.

London will rise into the mid-70s(F)/mid-20s(C), while Paris will see temperatures in the mid-70s(F)/mid-20s(C). Moscow will rise into the upper 60s(F)/lower 20s(C).

Yesterday's deaths brings the 2008 U.S. tornado death toll up to 96--the most tornado fatalities since 1998, when 130 people died. With at le...
